Babies Have Been Adopted

>With quiet joy and reverence the babies were given away to their new caretakers today.

The young children had worked for several months on the soft flannel blankets, stitching with care and creating a loving cocoon for the baby to be received into. They embroidered flowers, rainbows, sunshine and grass. They stitched with care and chose their colors with delight.

And so when the basket of little hand knit dollies arrived the little children were amazed and thrilled all at once.

We carefully thought of the name for each new arrival. Once a perfect name was picked then written on a heart-shaped tag, the babies were christened. A finger was dipped in salt water and gently placed upon the head of the new arrival. Then the babe was carefully placed in the care of the child. Oh, so sweet!

After each baby was greeted and blessed, the tea party commenced! Elegant delectables were set before each person, sun tea was served and we rejoiced in a job well done by one and all.

Yeah for Fridays and long weekends

What joy to look forward to a nice sunny long weekend. Time to craft and garden and maybe get a bit of housework.

I am excited to have posted my newest creations on my Etsy site. There is the most adorable knit pig that I created while working with some of my private students this past winter. We knit and talked about the passing of the seasons while a cozy fire kept us warm. The students sat upon sturdy wooden chairs that each has a wonderful woolen cushion atop. These too, were made by the students the previous year.

As we knit our pigs, and took care with following the pattern, I knit along with them and was able to complete two tan wool pigs. Each student sewed and stuffed and made sweet curly tails for the pig. When we were all done, it was with much joy and delight the pigs were held and cuddled. The tan pig is no different. She seems to want to squeal with the delight of being knit.

I know I could sometimes squeal with delight when a project is completed so well!! Just now I have finished mowing the entire lawn, with moments of contemplating decreasing the size of said lawn, and still there is time left to attempt planting the marigolds. I must have marigolds so that I can do some fantastic natural dyeing!!

So with that said, I am off to move some soil and get those fragrant flowers in the ground.

I wish for all a restful and relaxing weekend and that the sun shines no matter where you may be.

Please do visit my shop to check out the newest doll I have posted. He is a charmer, a Prince charmer!!!

My First Blog

Here is it, the very first page and what excitement there is for this to begin..... Plenty of crafting to go even tho the school year is drawing to an end. We still have to make gifts for dads and grads and finish up those final class projects. What fun, and then I get to send this out into the wide world of the internet and see what fish I might just catch.

I will be adding various posts regarding the classes I teach and the wonderful projects we create. There will be lots of pictures and perhaps even some simple instructions for interested parties and of course lots of support for the creative and crafty people out there......

Please feel free to check out my shop on Etsy. Just go to Etsy and then type in goldenneedlecreation under seller's and there in all its splendor will be my creations.
Tell me what you think!!!
Until next time...
yours in crafting,
Karen
